Golf Fundraiser October 15

22 09 2010

The meetings with our partner missionaries this month have been very productive.  Many people have had the opportunity to get to know the Amstutz and the Davis families and SSMN has been able to make plans for our participation with them in the coming year.  There are several development projects that need funding and we plan to send a team in the Spring (more details coming).  To this end, we have planned a fun fundraising event.

The First Annual SSMN Golf Outing Fundraiser will be held on October 15 at the Halifax Country club.  Whether you are a golfer or just a fan of the SSMN mission, there is opportunity for you to support us by golfing, joining us for dinner, sponsoring a hole, placing an ad in the program or donating an auction item.  For more details please see the Brochure on the following link: SSMN Golf Outing 10-15-10

To participate contact Joe Bourgeault at:   JandEBourg@verizon.net

Davis’ Visit Sept 18, 9-11a

12 09 2010

The Davis’ (Brian, Michele and their 4 children) are our missionary partners who live in the poor neighborhood of Saint Louis, Senegal where our project is starting.  They will be visiting us in 1 week and YOU ARE INVITED TO MEET THEM!  There will be a breakfast and presentation by the Davis’ this  Saturday 9/18 from 9-11a at the Brockton campus of SSCC church  (191 Torrey St,  Brockton, MA 02301).  This couple is dynamic and passionate about the work to be done.  It is a privilege to partner with them and to have them here this week!

Several weeks ago we had the opportunity to spend time with our other missionary partners (Jeff and Carrie Amstutz).  It was a very productive time in general planning for our future activity in Senegal.  This visit with the Davis’ will allow us to make specific plans for our next trip to Senegal.  We will hear the details of plans to build a vocational school for street kids and discuss the status of the community medical clinic and girls school.  We’ll find out from the missionaries who live and work in this community how we can best impact this place.

I hope to see you on Saturday.  –John
